We are seeking a highly skilled FPD Fleet Director to join our team at ONESEA SOLUTIONS PTE. LTD.

About the Role

This is a key position that requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in crewing management, human resources, and project management. As an FPD Fleet Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of crew management strategies, budget planning, and performance reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective crew management strategies to ensure efficient crew operations and compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Fleet Management, to develop and manage budgets, forecast expenditures, and funding requirements.
  • Oversee the monitoring of department expenses, provide variance reporting, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of measures and initiatives based on identified Fleet Personnel KPIs to improve financial reporting.
  • Liaise with external parties, including crewing partners, travel systems, and agency providers, to ensure efficient crewing of vessels.
  • Assist in the development of key marine HR initiatives under the guidance of the Director, Fleet Management.
  • Maintain contractual relationships with global Fleet Personnel vendors and monitor their performance.
Management Reporting
  • Participate in weekly operations leadership meetings and contribute to cross-functional teams as required.
  • Oversee the development and update of Crew Management performance reports, defining Key Performance Areas to meet company goals.
  • Communicate expectations to direct reports, manage performance, and provide leadership and support to team members.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, communicating expectations to direct reports and managing performance.
  • Understand the Health, Safety Environmental Protection, and Quality Policy, as well as responsibilities under the Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Report environmental noncompliance or concerns to senior management either directly or through the open reporting system.
Medical Repatriation and Claims Management
  • Design processes and procedures with the Crew Claims Advisor to manage medical repatriation claims.
  • Provide guidance on measuring medical claims performance against company-defined KPIs.
  • Propose policy changes where required.
Communications and Reporting
  • Guide the Senior Fleet Personnel Assistant in coordinating Master/Chief Engineer visits to charterers' offices and implementing the Setting Up for Success Program.
  • Liaise with manning agents in various countries regarding crewing-related matters as required by the Director, Fleet Management.
  • Support the Director in facilitating successful change management, improving Fleet Personnel performance, and maturing the organization efficiently.
  • Contribute to the development of regional seafarer forums and leadership conferences as required.
Project Management and System Support
  • Provide Fleet Personnel project management support as required.
  • Support system improvement initiatives across various platforms, including Crew Management software, Crew Communications platforms, and others.
  • Perform other duties assigned, including working in other functional areas to cover absences.
Requirements

To succeed as an FPD Fleet Director, you will need:

  • A minimum of five years of progressive working experience in crewing management or human resources, preferably in a Generalist role.
  • The ability to deliver top-quartile results in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proven track record of producing accurate, quality work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to exercise judgment and maintain consistency.
  • Experience working with container ships engaged in international trading.
  • CHRP certification is an asset.
  • Appropriate years of seagoing experience as a Master Mariner or Chief Officer rank.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Regular international travel may occur on short notice.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sufficient mobility to attend ad-hoc meetings.
  • The ability to maintain a home internet connection for work outside of office hours.
