Job Title:

A Biotechnologist Upstream position is now available in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine manufacturing processes and equipment preparation, including CIP, PT, SIP, etc. They will also support day-to-day production activities, record data according to Electronic Batch Record (EBR), and comply with GMP, Environmental, Health, and Safety guidelines.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing equipment and process monitoring
  • Communicating with supervisors and supporting functions for safety, quality, and process irregularities
  • Troubleshooting and resolving process-related issues
  • Performing production area housekeeping and reviewing documentation of activities as per GDP (Good Documentation Practice)
  • Using sophisticated software and programs to collect and evaluate data

Requirements include:

  • A degree or diploma in chemical engineering, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology equivalent
  • At least one year of relevant biotechnologist experience, preferably in GMP and/or Upstream
  • Basic skills and knowledge in fermentation, cell culture, bioreactor processing, media and buffer preparation, and downstream processing are an added advantage

This is a dynamic role that requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment. The ideal candidate must be able to carry heavy loads and rotate through 12-hour shifts.
