This role involves working in a fast-paced restaurant environment to provide exceptional customer service, build relationships with guests, and ensure their satisfaction. The host/hostess plays a crucial part in the smooth operation of the Crossroads Café.

  1. Greet and seat guests promptly and efficiently according to established procedures.
  2. Handle all guest inquiries and follow up accordingly to ensure their needs are met.
  3. Manage reservations effectively, recording information accurately and following up as necessary.
  4. Oversee guest check control to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  5. Familiarize yourself with Marriott's Guest Incentive Programs and ensure billing is carried out correctly.
  6. Maintain the hostess stand area, ensuring it remains clean and well-stocked at all times.
  7. Monitor and replenish menu supplies regularly to prevent stockouts.
  8. Develop strong inter-departmental relationships to share information and promote teamwork.
  9. Maintain awareness of regular guests' preferences and special requirements.
  10. Stay informed about restaurant menus, prices, and operational details at all times.
  11. Build and maintain an accurate database of restaurant patrons and key outlets.
  12. Proactively solicit new business opportunities in collaboration with the Sales & Marketing team.
  13. Promote F&B activities through active participation and communication with relevant parties.
  14. Adhere to hotel-established telephone etiquette standards.
  15. Participate in daily restaurant briefings to stay informed and aligned with team goals.
  16. Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing Department, F&B outlets for promotional efforts using various marketing channels.
  17. Comply with hotel grooming and hygiene standards at all times.
  18. Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment and prepare repair orders as needed.
  19. Assist in training and supervising other associates within the restaurant.
  20. Evaluate and improve service quality through Total Quality Management principles.
  21. Cash/Bank Handling:
  • Process all payment methods in accordance with Accounting procedures and policies.
  • Follow property control audit standards and cash handling procedures.
  • Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, and secure bank.
  • Ensure assigned bank accuracy, obtain change required for expected business level, and keep bank secure at all times.
  • Transport bank to/from assigned workstation following security procedures.
  • Set up and organize cashier workstation with designated supplies, forms, and resources; maintain cleanliness at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with established procedures and LSOP guidelines.

Ongoing duties will be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements
  • A Professional Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent conversational skills and a teamwork-oriented mindset.
  • Positive attitude and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to start work on short notice.
