Fleet Maintenance Assistant Manager

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of our in-house trailer repair and maintenance workshop, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to quality standards.
  • Guide and supervise staff on work allocation and deployment, providing guidance on technical skills and knowledge.
  • Verify repair quotations from vendors for prime movers and company vehicles, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure repairs are completed on time and meet our satisfaction expectations.
  • Ensure staff are equipped with relevant skills, knowledge, and certifications to perform necessary work.
  • Work closely with the Transport department to ensure trailers and prime movers are ready for LTA inspection.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement department to control inventory availability and cost.
  • Prepare statistics and reports to review performance and recommend operational enhancements.
  • Attend to drivers' feedback and recommend next course of action.
  • Ensure supply of safety kits and PPE to staff and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Ensure availability of tools, materials, and spare parts, and proper upkeep of inventory and assets.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Verify timely and proper opening and closing of job cards.
  • Adhere to statutory and company safety and health policies.
  • Assist the HOD and Management in assigned tasks.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Class 3 driving license.
  • At least 5 years of technical experience in the automotive industry, preferably in heavy/commercial vehicles.
  • Strong technical competence and experience in prime movers and trailers.
  • Good interpersonal skills and goal-oriented.
  • Able to handle stress and work under tight schedules.
Working Conditions:
  • Monday to Friday (8:30am - 5:30pm); Saturday (8:30am - 12:30pm).
  • Daily meal subsidy.
  • Medical, dental, and insurance benefits.
  • Company transport: 2-way from Jurong East.
