Job Description

As a senior mechanical design engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development of equipment designs and ensuring they meet customer and internal specifications. Your role will involve project planning, coordination, and review to ensure projects are completed on schedule.

Key responsibilities include conducting equipment design and development work, acting as a project lead, maintaining relevant documents, and generating detailed 2D/3D drawings. You will also be responsible for raising ECNs for design updates and providing technical support to process and production teams.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your mechanical engineering principles and techniques to develop innovative solutions. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential in this position.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct equipment design & development work according to customers and internal specifications.
  • Act as project lead to plan, organize and co-ordinate their respective project's meetings to review design and ensure projects are kept to schedule.
  • Maintain and control relevant documents related to R& D activities per requirements.
  • Maintain, keep track, and ensure Billed Materials is updated.
  • Generate detailed 2D/3D drawings
  • Raise ECN for update of changes to design and drawings and follow up on approval and ECN flow.
  • Provide technical support to process & production, supply chain & QA for review and troubleshooting of design and drawings.
Required Skills and Qualifications

For this position, we require a bachelor's degree or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant discipline. A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in semiconductor or automation equipment design is necessary, with more years of experience considered for the senior position.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Words, Excel, PowerPoint) are required, as well as strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and engineering techniques. Plentiful experience of mechanical designs using SolidWorks is preferred, while candidate with Autodesk/Auto CAD Software will be an advantage.

Good communication, time management, problem-solving and decision-making skills are required for this position.

Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in mechanical engineering or relevant disciplines.
  • At least a minimum 4 years of relevant experience in semiconductor or automation equipment design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Words, Excel, PowerPoint).
