Maximizing patient potential is a crucial aspect of this position.
The occupational therapist will work with patients having various conditions stemming from injury, illness, or aging. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide occupational therapy services in a dynamic environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Clinical Competencies: Assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients independently within the defined scope of practice, seeking guidance when necessary.
- Administrative Competency: Managing allocated caseloads, maintaining accurate records, adhering to billing procedures, and possessing basic IT skills in Microsoft applications.
- Teamwork and Professionalism: Engaging in patient education, proactive cross-coverage, providing after-hours services, and maintaining good working relations with healthcare professionals.
Continuous Education: Staying updated with knowledge, attending relevant courses, and contributing to colleagues' professional development. Supervisory Role: Assisting in supervision, appraisal, and training of therapy assistants and personnel. Quality Improvement: Embracing continuous improvements, contributing to departmental initiatives, and reporting feedback on service delivery.
Education and Requirements:
- A recognized diploma/degree in occupational therapy.
- A non-recognized diploma/degree with relevant qualifications.
- Registration with the Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC).
- Membership of the Singapore Occupational Therapist Association (highly recommended).
