Quality Assurance & Halal Specialist

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Quality Assurance & Halal Specialist to oversee food safety, quality assurance, and Halal compliance in our central kitchen operations. This role ensures that all products meet regulatory standards and MUIS Halal Certification Conditions while supporting continuous improvement in food manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong proficiency in Malay language and bilingual in both English and Malay language. Prior experience in food quality assurance or Halal compliance is an advantage, as well as familiarity with SFA and MUIS Halal guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Halal Compliance & Coordination
  • Ensure full adherence to MUIS Halal Certification Conditions (HCC), including documentation, audits, and certification renewals.
  • Act as the liaison with MUIS and appointed Halal consultants.
  • Maintain and update Halal-related SOPs and training materials.
  • Conduct internal Halal audits and prepare for MUIS inspections.
  • Quality Assurance
  • Implement and monitor food safety and quality control procedures (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
  • Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, production processes, and finished goods.
  • Investigate and resolve non-conformities or customer complaints related to product quality.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of QA and Halal activities, including traceability logs, cleaning schedules, and staff training.
  • Prepare reports for internal review and external audits.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or equivalent in Food Science, Nutrition, or related field preferred
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skill
  • Strong proficiency in Malay language and bilingual in both English and Malay language
  • Prior experience in food quality assurance or Halal compliance is an advantage
  • Familiarity with SFA and MUIS Halal guidelines
  • Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on tasks including packaging and coordination
