Market Risk Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Market Risk Analyst to join our Distribution Monitoring team.

This role plays a critical part in driving analytics capabilities and insights to better identify emerging market risks. The successful candidate will support the Lead, Distribution Audits and Surveillance, in monitoring trends of complaints, investigations, key compliance risk indicators, and sales metrics.

This position requires someone who is self-motivated, driven, analytical, and attentive to details. A basic understanding of the insurance industry and operations is essential. Knowledge of regulations and industry guidelines applicable to the insurance/financial industry is also required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the firm-wide market conduct risk framework to mitigate distribution market conduct risks.
  • Leverage analytics capabilities and insights to identify emerging market risks.
  • Deliver training sessions with distribution channels on market conduct and sales compliance issues.
  • Closely monitor social media platforms to identify online postings not in compliance with regulatory or company requirements.
  • Provide regular management information reports to Governance Committees relating to market conduct, fraud, and sales metrics.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in a compliance role in a financial institution or similar organization.
  • Preferably with experience in dealing with distribution functions.
  • Insurance-related certifications (e.g. FLMI (LOMA), CMFAS Module 5, 9, 9A & Health Insurance) are preferred.
  • A degree in Business, Insurance, or Finance related fields is preferred.
