About the Role

We are looking for an experienced healthcare professional with a strong background in nursing and ICD-10-AM coding to join our team. As a key member of our coding department, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently abstracting and coding diagnoses and procedures for retrieval, research, and reimbursement purposes.

In this role, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to clarify any incomplete or ambiguous documentation, optimise coding through output and quality coding, and participate in continuing education and training of new coders. You will also ensure that coding standards are met and maintained at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Abstract accurate and complete diagnoses and procedures from inpatient records using ICD-10-AM codes.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to resolve incomplete or unclear documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of coding processes and outcomes.
  • Maintain high-quality coding standards and adherence to guidelines.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Nursing or relevant field.
  • Certificate in ICD-10-AM Coding is advantageous.
