Crew Management Requirements
The Shipping Personnel Management Expert will be responsible for managing THE SUPREME HR ADVISORY PTE. LTD.'s crew personnel.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership and management to THE SUPREME HR ADVISORY PTE. LTD.'s crewing department.
- Preparing marine personnel budgets and following up on any changes.
- Assisting in preparing crew cost estimates.
- Recruiting and re-employing all senior and junior officers or crew.
- Maintaining contact with Seamen's Unions and negotiating CBAs.
- Interviewing potential new senior officers.
- Verifying insurance cover requirements for officers and crew.
- Controlling drug and alcohol testing for all vessels.
- Liasing with charterers regarding senior officers/crew disputes.
- Visiting vessels to investigate specific crew problems.
- Collating Crew P&I claim documents.
- Follwing up on all relevant CBA terms, conditions, and changes.
- Ensuring the Master is informed and holds a copy of the relevant CBA.
- Proposing wage levels, terms, and conditions for personnel not covered by CBAs.
- Taking overall responsibility for the appraisal, training, and monitoring of marine crew performance.
- Appointing crewing agents and ensuring their compliance with PRL training requirements and needs.
- Visiting manning agents and conducting internal audits.
- Monitoring and appointing medical institutions to perform pre- or post-medical examinations.
- Negotiating and approving crew agency fees.
- Providing advice and proposals on Cadet, Trainee, and recruitment programs.
- Appointing and monitoring the performance of marine travel agents worldwide.
- Liasing with other departments to manage the crew team accordingly.
- Liasing with the Sea Radiance (ship agency) team to ensure all aspects of the agency are in order.
