Job Title: Academic Support Specialist

Supporting Student Success in Education

  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in delivering high-quality education to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, identifying areas for additional support.
  • Offer targeted support to students, particularly in core subjects like Maths and English.
  • Work with groups of students under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Conduct guided reading sessions with set learning objectives.
  • Lead group activities during rotations/stations to support main learning objectives across various curriculum areas.
  • Oversee educational games or free play in Early Years and Primary settings.
  • Provide assistance to individual students with additional needs.
  • Help students develop individual and collaborative study skills.
  • Accompany and supervise students during transitions between class and specialist lessons.
  • Key Requirements:
  • Deliver the curriculum effectively.
  • Monitor pupil progress closely.
  • Provide tailored support to meet students' needs.
  • Develop strong relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Be proactive in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
