Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-volume, consumables manufacturing environment and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership in manufacturing sustaining efforts, defining and performing preventive maintenance on optical, mechanical, electrical, and fluidics systems.
  • Use knowledge of mechanical, optical, fluidics, and organic chemistry principles to troubleshoot manufacturing process and equipment issues.
  • Perform basic computer/software troubleshooting and develop, write, and update manuals and procedures.
  • Train other engineers and production personnel on procedure, process, and equipment changes.
  • Work in a team environment to improve equipment reliability and uptime, construct and execute controlled experiments (including DOE's) to address equipment-related yield and quality issues.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Candidate has experience with opto/mechanical/electrical system, fluidics, and organic chemistry processes (preferably DNA-related).
  • Strong demonstrated mechanical aptitude required; experience in writing procedures and training is also essential.
Competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently is required.
  • Good inter-departmental communication skills and documentation skills are required.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control, JMP, and DOE techniques is a plus.
