About Us

Quayside Isle Preparatory School Pte. Ltd. is a reputable preschool that provides a nurturing environment for children aged 18 months to 6 years 11 months. Our school is located on Sentosa Cove, surrounded by nature's beauty and the outdoors. We are registered under ECDA and deliver an outstanding curriculum combining the UK core and International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC). Mandarin is taught simultaneously across all age groups, allowing for a seamless bilingual approach that is both effective and engaging for students.

Our Approach

We understand a child's innate creativity and curiosity, which helps build confidence, nurture compassion, and create a positive learning experience. Our children are encouraged to experience, probe, and seek answers through meaningful activities both in and outside the classroom. We believe in creating a supportive and balanced work environment for our educators, offering school holidays that align with the international calendar, ensuring ample time to rest and recharge. Our staff enjoy fixed working hours each day, allowing for a clear work-life balance. Additionally, we pride ourselves on maintaining a small teacher-to-student ratio, which enables our educators to make a meaningful impact on each student's learning experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to deliver high-quality education
  • Teach and guide students in the classroom, preparing engaging lesson plans and activities
  • Maintain and organize classroom materials, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment
  • Assist in communication with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress
  • Take on the role of Lead Teacher when required, demonstrating leadership and initiative
  • Deliver differentiated lessons and activities within the classroom, catering to diverse learning needs
  • Implement and conduct programs for classroom use, promoting student engagement and motivation
  • Contribute and provide professional feedback during meetings, fostering a culture of continuous learning
  • Maintain student confidentiality and ensure conduct is professional and ethical
  • Develop knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities
  • Participate in service development and improvement activities within the team, driving excellence in education
  • Assist in developing strategies and provide learning opportunities for all students, promoting inclusive education
  • Maintain dynamic learning stations, ensuring a stimulating and interactive learning environment
  • Assist in developing outdoor learning experiences for students, aligning with the curriculum and promoting environmental awareness
  • Assist in identifying children who need extra support to meet class goals across development areas, providing targeted interventions
  • Assist in identifying children who are achieving expected outcomes and benefit from a higher level of instruction, providing differentiated planning and delivery
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with all members of staff, children, and parents
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of Quayside Isle Preparatory School Pte. Ltd.
Performance Assessment Criteria

The Assistant Teacher is assessed on their ability to demonstrate the following key attributes within the context of the responsibilities described above:

  • Building Professional Capacity: demonstrates the ability to work effectively with all staff as a reliable team member, contributes to fostering a culture of continuous learning, develops and motivates team members through capability development, and displays critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Communication: holds a strong command of the English Language both in speaking and writing, communicates clearly, professionally, and effectively with staff, children, parents, and other associated professionals
  • Policies and Organisational Capacity: adheres to all policies and procedures set out within their respective professional manual, including confidentiality, assists in fostering a culture of collaboration and facilitates effective team work, applies emotional competence to manage self and the team at all times, solves problems and makes well-thought-through decisions at a supervisory level within the mentoring capacity, and collaborates with the Director of Learning to align short- and long-term goals to the vision, mission, and values of QuIPS
