Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Food Safety and Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at PULEM HOLDINGS PTE. LTD.

This is a full-time position based in Singapore, Senoko South Road area, with a competitive salary of SGD 5500 - 6500 per month, depending on experience.

About the Role

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all supply chain processes meet stringent quality standards. This involves close collaboration with suppliers, logistics, and internal teams to maintain consistency, reduce risks, and enhance customer satisfaction by upholding product and process quality.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a standardized Food Safety Management System (FSMS) that meets legal and regulatory compliance demands across various national and international frameworks.
  • Setting up and managing an internal audit system to verify the effectiveness of FSMS implementation.
  • Managing variations in the food safety compliance system due to resource and cultural differences in local sites.
  • Establishing supplier food safety control systems and conducting supplier food safety audits.
  • Providing training on food safety and quality requirements.
  • Maintaining documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manuals, policies, and procedures related to food safety concerns.
  • Updating existing food safety procedures and documentation to keep pace with changing requirements.
  • Oversighting proper maintenance and sanitation of facilities to comply with food safety regulations.
  • Ensuring adherence to company food safety and quality assurance procedures and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Planning, arranging, and monitoring outlet food product microbial test results and trend analysis.
  • Serving as the main contact point for the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).
  • Conducting facility food safety audits and managing third-party audits, including SS444:2018 and ISO 22000.
  • Providing food safety consultancy and auditing services for sister companies, partners, or franchisees.
  • Preparing periodic reports on FSMS implementation progress and outcomes, reviewing the effectiveness of the FSMS.
  • Working closely with the operations team to provide technical assistance and guidance in conducting food safety-related investigations on customer feedback and nonconformance issues, and offering recommendations for continual improvement.
  • Conducting routine inspections of products processed at production.
  • Assisting in third-party food safety audits or inspections.
  • Providing support for ad-hoc assignments as needed.
  • Identifying areas for process improvement and leading initiatives to enhance quality systems.
  • Oversighting complex QA activities, including planning and implementing QA strategies for large projects.
  • Offering professional opinions or suggestions related to food safety when required.
  • Ensuring team performance and meeting quality objectives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • At least 1 year of experience in QA/QC, preferably in the food manufacturing sector.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Computer literacy.
  • A positive working attitude with good adaptability.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

This role is based in the Senoko South Road area of Singapore.
