Job Title: Assistant Archivist/Archivist

Join the National Library Board (NLB) in nurturing Readers for Life, Learning Communities, and a Knowledgeable Nation. As an Assistant Archivist/Archivist, you will be part of the National Archives of Singapore (NAS), responsible for managing the transfer, preservation, and access of government records of archival value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with IT and users on the development and maintenance of multiple digital systems, ensuring the preservation and accessibility of digital records.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and manage the department's Intranet website.
  • Oversee projects for processing digitized records for preservation, maintain documentation, and conduct research on new formats and technologies.
  • Develop strategies and frameworks for transfer and preservation of complex digital records, and experiment with software and tools to improve work processes.
  • Engage stakeholders across NLB and external stakeholders on collaborative projects relating to digital preservation.
Requirements:
  • At least 2-5 years of experience in IT application system development or maintenance, or IT application system support.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Proven experience in planning and managing projects.
  • Possess problem-solving skills and able to exercise sound independent judgement.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Good team-player.
  • Positive learning attitude and comfortable with taking on new challenges and dealing with uncertainty.
  • Has the curiosity and interest in leveraging IT and technology to improve user experience and work productivity.
