**Fragrance Laboratory Specialist Job Description**

We are seeking a highly skilled Fragrance Laboratory Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting the fragrance compounding and quality control functions within our organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a methodical approach to work, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. They will be responsible for preparing fragrance samples, conducting quality checks on raw materials and finished goods, maintaining proper documentation and inventory records, and ensuring the laboratory is clean, well-organized, and compliant with safety requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Compounding fragrance samples accurately based on internal formulation references.
  • Organizing and maintaining fragrance raw materials and lab inventory.
  • Ensuring the laboratory is clean, well-organized, and compliant with safety requirements.

Quality assurance/quality control:

  • Conducting QC checks on incoming raw materials, in-process blends, and finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Performing basic tests such as appearance, odor evaluation, refractive index, and specific gravity.
  • Flagging and reporting any deviations or non-conformities.
  • Managing and storing QC retain samples systematically.

Documentation and compliance:

  • Maintaining detailed and accurate records of laboratory and QC activities.
  • Preparing and issuing Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for finished goods.
  • Ensuring all documentation is current, properly filed, and audit-compliant.
  • Supporting review and maintenance of internal SOPs and product specifications.

Requirements:

  • Minimum diploma in Perfumery & Cosmetic Science or equivalent.
  • Fresh diploma holders are welcome to apply. Training will be provided.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in a laboratory or QA/QC environment is an advantage.
  • Familiar with fragrance raw materials, basic lab equipment, and QC test procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical and organized approach to work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable handling fragrance oils and chemicals daily.

Preferred attributes:

  • Experience in fragrance compounding or QC testing.
  • Interest in fragrances, sensory evaluation, and product quality.
