Job Title: Associate Director, Third Party Risk Oversight, Asia Pacific

Scotiabank is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead our Third Party Risk Oversight team in Asia Pacific. As a key member of our Global Business Management (GBM) team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of third-party risks across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive third-party risk management framework for Asia Pacific, aligned with Scotiabank's global risk management policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with business lines, technology groups, and control and support units to ensure new initiatives are properly assessed for third-party risks.
  • Lead the development and implementation of recommendations to mitigate identified risks, including those associated with business continuity management.
  • Partner with the senior leadership Regulatory and Business Initiatives Group (RBI) in Toronto on GBM's regulatory programs in the region.
  • Provide guidance and support to the business lines and internal stakeholders on third-party risk management best practices.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Accounting, Business Finance, or Risk Management, or equivalent tertiary education.
  • At least 4-5 years' experience in outsourcing risk management or related operational risk oversight (1B line of defense) function.
  • Strong knowledge in operational risk management policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with senior leadership team and 3rd parties.
