The Role

As an Enterprise Windows Systems Architect, you will report to the Platform Team Manager. Your key responsibilities will include planning, project support, implementation, systems administration, and operations support to ensure that implemented and/or existing systems, services, and applications meet user expectations and company standards.

You will be responsible for:

  • Deployment and license compliance;
  • Budgeting and procurement of services, hardware, licenses as required for services under your care;
  • Planning, arranging, and performing operating systems/software upgrades and patching in accordance with Change Management cycles;
  • FOLLOWING day-to-day operations to ensure continuity of work;
  • Adhering to department policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to maintain a controlled and consistent working environment.

Additionally, you will:

  • Perform proactive capacity management and planning, including growth projections on infrastructure resources (hypervisor hosts, VMware, virtual machines, and/or physical servers) and capacity upgrades (scaling up/scaling out).
  • Proactively manage availability, conducting health checks of all hypervisors and objects in vCenter, monitoring and rectifying reported alarms, managing backups/restoration, identifying resource bottlenecks, and snapshot management.
  • Implement patch management, planning and consolidating patch schedules (e.g., hardware firmware patches, ESXi patches, VMware tools versions), and performing patch and software version upgrades.
  • Maintain documentation, identifying and documenting dependencies between various domains (e.g., network, systems, applications, or databases), inventorying assets and tracking licenses for compliance purposes, and supporting periodic audit review exercises.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans, producing, updating, and building Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), validating actual procedure execution, participating in scheduled periodic DRP/BCP exercises, and managing vendors/contractors to ensure implementation meets stipulated requirements and project deliverables are met.
  • Provide/review solutions in terms of systems architecture, design, and configuration, proposing recommendations to technology department management, leading infrastructure-related projects, participating as project members for key application and/or infrastructure projects, and managing vendors/contractors to ensure timely and sufficient implementation.
  • Ensure 24x7 operations support by performing on-call standby duties, investigating issues within 30 minutes upon alert/activation, and performing after-hours emergency work as scheduled or required.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal users, technology team members, and cross-departmental staff for operation support and projects, and with external partners, vendors, and contractors.

Ideal Profile

  • Required qualification and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field;
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role in an enterprise environment;
  • Strong knowledge of Windows server, active directory, M365, and other IT systems and applications;
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
  • Good communication and collaboration skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritization;
  • Certifications in relevant IT domains are a plus, example: Certified in MS SharePoint 2016 or above, MS-100: Microsoft 365 Identity and Services, MS-101 Microsoft 365 Mobility and Security, Certified in VMware administration.
