Job Summary

GreenLane is seeking a highly skilled Treasury Settlement Specialist to join our Settlement Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of treasury settlement and clearing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • To verify and validate deals entered in the OPICS system by dealers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • To key in customer FX deals in NGS, maintaining up-to-date records and reports.
  • To ensure source documents and deal tickets are properly approved and initialled, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • To update and record daily transactions in fund position management, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • To maintain outstanding and matured deals and reports in designated files, ensuring easy access and retrieval.
  • To prepare SWIFT's outgoing messages, confirmations, payments, and other Departmental requests, demonstrating expertise in swift operations.
  • To perform daily Nostro reconciliation, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • To print, check, and ensure assigned reports are accurate and highlight any irregularities to the Senior Manager, Settlement, for further action.
  • To check and match counterparty's confirmation, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • To monitor and manage cash flow position in conjunction with the Treasury Division, making informed decisions to optimize cash flow.
  • To prepare and submit MAS reports, i.e., MAS755 (weekly), MAS610 (monthly), and other reports to Head Office upon requirement, demonstrating expertise in MAS reporting.
  • To prepare and submit FX new deals, IRS new deals, CCS new deals, FX MTM Transactions, IRS MTM Transactions, and CCS MTM Transactions daily to MAS via DTCC through Trace, showcasing proficiency in treasury products.
  • To check the dealer's blotter at the end of the day to ensure all deals are processed and captured in OPICS system, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • To process opening, creation, and maintenance of accounts and support for Internet Banking's customers, providing exceptional customer service.
  • To lead and participate in system enhancement, testing, and projects related to Settlements/Internet Banking assigned by Section Head, Settlement Operations or Head/Deputy Head of Operations, demonstrating leadership and teamwork skills.
  • To attend ad-hoc queries from Head Office, External/Internal auditor, Compliance, Business departments (Trade Finance, Corporate Banking, Treasury, Private Banking, etc.), Nostro Agents, or other government authorities, providing expert guidance and support.
  • To mentor and train new hires (Settlement) for familiarisation of the handling of Treasury Settlements products (FX/MM/NDF/lRS/Securities etc), monitoring of cash flow position, Nostro Accounts balancing, and other essential skills.
  • To ensure all long past treasury settlement documents are properly filed and recorded, and sent to warehouse (CISCO) for safekeeping, maintaining a high level of organisation and attention to detail.
  • To perform any other duties as directed by Section Head, Settlement Operations or Head/Deputy Head of Operations or Management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or higher qualification, with at least 3 years of experience in treasury settlement and clearing process, being familiar with local clearing systems, i.e., MEPS+.
  • Good understanding and knowledge in various treasury products, e.g., Money Market, Foreign Exchange, Security/Bonds, derivative products, etc.
  • Strong understanding and experience in swift operations, able to process remittance transaction.
  • With knowledge of accounting entry, AML checking, and MAS reporting, i.e., 610, 755, etc.
  • With knowledge of corporate customer internet banking.
  • Must be meticulous, careful, positive, and full of sense of responsibility.
  • Mature with good communication skills and must be able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of Mandarin is an added advantage to liaise with Mandarin speaking clients.
