Regional Legal Expert

The Regional Legal Expert plays a pivotal role in full-spectrum legal and compliance topics, including employment/labor law matters, intellectual property, compliance, corporate and commercial law.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Region Head of Legal and Compliance in all legal and compliance matters, including the roll-out of global contracting concepts and regionalization of contracts according to local law requirements.
  2. Provide legal advice on all legal matters to Global/Regional teams in the region, aligning with policies and procedures.
  3. Support all employment/labor law and corporate matters arising from various Hilti entities in the region.
  4. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial or project sales contracts, including contract administration matters.
  5. Participate in global legal initiatives and implement globally cascaded policies and initiatives in the region.
  6. Manage external legal counsels and conduct presentations and training for business teams on legal and compliance topics, as required.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified lawyer with 8-10 years of experience, ideally gained in a top-tier law firm and/or a multinational company.
  2. Candidates may be qualified in any competent jurisdiction in the region.
  3. Substantial experience working in the regional market with a clear understanding of its business norms, knowledge of employment/labor law, corporate, and commercial law, and experience in sales/project contracting in energy, civil/construction infrastructure, oil and gas/offshore wind sectors.
  4. Experience reviewing and negotiating legal/commercial contracts and contracts administration.
  5. Strong legal and compliance skills with a proven record of handling complex legal matters.
  6. LL.B from a reputable university; LL.M is advantageous.
  7. Entrepreneurial, business, and target-oriented mindset, ability to assess risks and opportunities, and act ethically.
  8. Ability to manage legal projects proactively, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  9. Excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of translating complex legal matters into business language.
  10. Team player with an independent work style, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  11. Good interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
  12. Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a good sense of humor.
  13. Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
  14. Fluent in English; additional regional languages are advantageous.
  15. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
