The Lead Academic Visionary for Secondary Education is a senior leadership role at One World International School PTE. LTD., responsible for leading the Secondary Senior Leadership Team and contributing to the Campus Senior Leadership Team.

Job Description

As the Lead Academic Visionary, you will oversee the academic achievement standards, ensuring continuity and progression of age-related curricular programmes - Secondary, IGCSE, and IBDP. Your primary responsibility is to promote the attributes and attitude of the IB Learner Profile and the school values.

  • To lead the Secondary School in accordance with the School's vision and mission for teaching and learning.
  • To manage the Secondary School curriculum, maintaining the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • To stay informed about external developments in curriculum to meet external and internal standards, as well as pedagogical approaches.
  • To establish quality assurance mechanisms for the Secondary School, including monitoring planning against published syllabi.
  • To provide guidance and support to other staff members for resource management, planning, and assessment of the Secondary School provision.
  • To implement assessment according to the School Assessment Policy, covering delivery, feedback, tracking, and target setting.
  • To enhance student progression, achievement, and retention by monitoring and evidencing attainment and progress.
  • To promote student wellbeing and ensure effective implementation of a comprehensive pastoral programme.
  • To maintain open communication between the School and parents, providing ongoing collaboration between home and school.
  • To keep parents informed about school processes and programmes, including publishing Grade Outcomes and hosting parent partnership workshops.
  • To line manage all Secondary School staff, working with Heads of Department to raise standards through effective tracking and intervention strategies.
  • To stay updated on current legislation, examination specifications, and classroom best practices to advise the Head of School and SLT on academic policies and procedures.
  • To be responsible for public examination results summaries and performance analysis at school and departmental levels, in conjunction with the Examinations Officer and IBDP Coordinator.
  • To lead professional development through meetings and training as per the Secondary School needs from the Action Plan.
  • To participate in marketing events and showcase the School positively.
Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $120,000 SGD, commensurate with experience.

Location

This role is based at our Nanyang Campus in Jurong West.
