Research Scientist Opportunity

We are seeking a Research Scientist to join our team in the development of a software platform to support Smart Nation applications.

  • About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing natural language processing (NLP) algorithms and models for semantic analysis, including topic modeling, embedding, named-entity recognition, coreference resolution, and parsing. They will also apply NLP in knowledge and information extraction, conduct translational research to apply state-of-the-art solutions at scale for real-world challenges, document and scientifically report their work, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the development of the software platform.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and implement NLP algorithms and models for semantic analysis, e.g., topic modeling, embedding, named-entity recognition, coreference resolution, and parsing, and Multilingual translation.
  2. Apply NLP in knowledge and information extraction.
  3. Conduct translational research to apply state-of-the-art solutions at scale for real-world challenges.
  4. Document and scientifically report work.
  5. Mentor junior staff.
  • Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in Computer Science or a related field, minimum 5 years software development experience, experience and excellent research background in NLP, proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python), research packages/modules, experience in large-scale text processing and analytics, good track records in publication, and experience in Multilingual Translation is an added advantage.
