Sheetmetal Fabrication Specialist required for a Seasonal Contract position supporting the National Science Foundation managed United States Antarctic Program as part of the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC).

This role performs sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and installation tasks on maintenance or construction projects, or any combination thereof. Tasking is based on ASC schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and installation on maintenance and construction projects
  • Perform layout and fabrication of ductwork and building components, using mechanical fasteners or welding
  • Performs a variety of sheetmetal fabrications for heating and ventilation systems and building components using a variety of sheetmetal forming tools and equipment
  • May be required to assist with insulation projects
  • Timely response to emergency service calls during and outside of normal working hours
  • Accurate and thorough documentation of hours worked, tasking performed, materials used, and processes involved
  • Advise immediate Supervisor of job progress and material/labor requirements

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum four years of documented experience in all phases of sheet metal fabrication and assembly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association License, or equivalent
  • Experience in a commercial or industrial environment

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods
  • Successful completion of Medical and Dental examinations required by the NSF for deployment to Antarctica
  • Successful completion of drug screening and background check required by employer
  • Valid Driver's License issued in the United States

Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
