Senior Piping Specialist

Job Overview:

The role of Piping Engineer is critical in ensuring the design and execution of piping systems meet the required standards and specifications.

As a Senior Piping Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers to execute assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and tracking progress of piping design to ensure alignment with project schedules and specs.">
• Ensuring isometric, spool, and other piping drawings meet construction and field requirements.">
• Collaborating with stress, routing, and support design teams for integrated piping solutions.">
• Aligning piping design with equipment layout, escape routes, maintenance, and handling access.">
• Verifying 3D model accuracy against latest P&IDs and pipe stress analysis reports.">
• Coordinating with vendors, engineering disciplines, procurement, production, and commissioning.">
• Reviewing and commenting on piping layouts, isometric drawings, support drawings, and calculations.">
• Evaluating vendor technical proposals and documentation (e.g., VCDs).">
• Ensuring compliance with contract specs, regulatory, and classification standards.">
• Preparing and managing technical queries (TQF) and engineering variation orders (EVO).">
• Monitoring drawing revisions, hold items, and managing surplus materials.">
• Tracking required inputs, interface points, 3D model clashes, and review punch lists.">
• Maintaining completeness of design database to meet digital engineering requirements.">
• Supporting fabrication, erection, testing, painting, welding, and commissioning activities.">
• Conducting onboard inspections and assisting with QA/QC and test package preparations.">
• Maintaining communication between design and construction teams for design compliance.">
• Monitoring responses from clients and classification societies.">
• Tracking procurement progress, piping weight, and any hot work or tank coating activities.">

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.">
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in piping engineering.">
• Experience in offshore or shipyard projects (e.g., rig building, shipbuilding) is preferred.">
• Strong understanding of piping design, planning, and engineering workflows.">
• Familiarity with international standards such as ASME, ASTM, API, and classification society regulations.">
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred).">
• Experience with 2D drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD).">
• Skilled in 3D model review software (e.g., Navisworks).">
• Knowledge of 3D modeling applications such as SmartPlant, AVEVA, Cadmatic, etc.">
