**Job Title:** Deputy Head of Department Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Deputy Head of Department Operations Specialist at The Bank of East Asia, Limited.

**Estimated Salary:** HKD 1,200,000 - HKD 1,500,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Description

As a Deputy Head of Department Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and supervising Trade & Loan Services Department in accordance with the branch's guidelines to achieve set objectives. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Head of Department in setting strategic directions for the department, focusing on compliance, risk, and operations;
  • Reviewing and refining work procedures to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness in operations;
  • Enhancing productivity through automation and streamlining of workflows and processes;
  • Studying and recommending new trade & loan related products and services;
  • Ensuring full compliance with regulations, guidelines, rules, codes, standards, and the Enterprise Risk Management Framework;

You will also be responsible for motivating and developing high-performing teams within the department, reviewing staff performance periodically, and arranging internal cross-training to improve work performances, morale, and motivations of staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A university or post-university graduate degree;
  • Strong knowledge of trade finance, loan operations, and correspondent banking;
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in middle/back-office operations, with at least 8 years working experience in commodity trade financing banks;
  • Knowledge of international trade and relevant UCP/ISBP/URC/URR rules and incoterms 2020, as well as MAS Regulations/Notices;
  • Strong LC documents checking skills, preferably with CDCS, especially commodity trade LC documents;
  • Good interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and staff and colleagues;
  • Strong customer service skill;
  • Strong trade & loan product knowledge with the ability to mitigate risks, evaluate options, and provide solutions;
