Job Title: Senior Research Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research Officer to join our team at the Environmental Health Institute. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting research and surveillance of arboviruses and other pathogenic viruses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and conduct research projects independently, including virus culture and characterization, seroepidemiological studies, and data analysis.
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary environment, collaborating with colleagues to translate research into evidence-based public health programs and policies.
  • Conduct studies that contribute to the risk assessment of arboviruses and/or environmentally transmitted viruses.
  • Develop and implement research plans, protocols, and procedures to ensure high-quality research outcomes.
  • Collaborate with international and local scientific experts to advance research knowledge and expertise.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years relevant experience, or Master's or PhD degree in Virology, Immunology, Cell Biology, or related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of working experience and proficiency in core areas relevant to virology, such as virus isolation, mammalian cell culture, immunology, and serology.
  • Experience with animal models is desirable.
  • Ability to work in a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL3) environment, with prior experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to multi-task and work well in a team.
