Cloud Security Specialist

The role of a Cloud Security Specialist is pivotal in safeguarding an organization's data and infrastructure. This individual implements and manages cloud security solutions, ensuring the security posture of the company remains robust.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify, investigate, and respond to potential security threats and vulnerabilities within cloud environments.
  • Support security monitoring initiatives and collaborate with teams to enhance threat intelligence efforts.
  • Assist in the identification of root causes of security incidents and contribute to remediation planning processes.
  • Develop and deploy security controls for hybrid and cloud environments, leveraging expertise in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and other relevant technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CCM by implementing security policies and best practices.
  • Develop and integrate security tools like Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions into cloud environments.
  • Implement secure configurations in cloud environments and engage with vendors to resolve security-related issues.
  • Participate in training and upskilling programs to stay current with emerging trends and technologies.

Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience in Information Security, Cloud Security, or Security Engineering.
  • A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with AWS or Azure security features and cloud security best practices.
  • Proven expertise in security technologies and processes, including Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint security, and log management.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM/Analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or Securonix) is required.
  • Familiarity with public and hybrid cloud security risks and mitigation strategies is essential.
  • Experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and proxy security solutions is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management is necessary.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, and OWASP Top 10 security risks is expected.
  • Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AWS Security Specialty, CEH) are preferred but not mandatory.
