Job Title: Aquatic Animal Care Specialist
About the Role:
- We are seeking an experienced and skilled Animal Welfare Manager to oversee a team of junior aquarists, ensuring high standards of animal care are maintained.
- You will perform animal husbandry tasks, including underwater work, and review and prepare diets and nutritional requirements for animals under care.
- You will also coordinate animal medical procedures and movements between locations, as well as supervise and maintain the cleanliness of habitats under your care.
- In addition, you will perform general maintenance tasks, repair tools and equipment, and observe and record animal behavior.
- You will work closely with stakeholders to coordinate new events, projects, and activities.
Requirements:
- You must have a diploma or degree in Marine Science, Aquaculture, Biological or Life Sciences.
- You must be scuba diving certified (Open Water Dive and above) and physically fit to dive.
- You must be confident working in an aquatic environment and possess good leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
- You must be passionate about working with animals and committed to environmental sustainability and conservation.
- You must be able to perform shift work, including weekends and public holidays.
- Possession of animal management software knowledge is an advantage.
