We are seeking a Junior Sous Chef with a passion for Italian cuisine and a strong commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a cook or chef, preferably in an Italian restaurant, and possess formal culinary training or relevant certifications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Sous Chef and Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and ingredient selection. They will also prepare and cook a variety of Italian dishes to the highest standards, supervise and train junior kitchen staff, and oversee kitchen operations during shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and ingredient selection.
  • Prepare and cook high-quality Italian dishes to meet our high standards.
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff to ensure they meet our quality and service standards.
  • Oversee kitchen operations during shifts to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and stock control as needed.
  • Handle customer concerns or special requests with professionalism and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a Cook or Chef, preferably in an Italian restaurant.
  • Formal culinary training or relevant certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, cooking techniques, and food safety practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and passionate about food with a strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
