Job Description

The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University seeks a highly qualified Research Fellow to join their team. As a Research Fellow, you will play a vital role in supporting the planning and execution of various research grants.

You will work closely with the Lead Investigator on quantitative and qualitative research related to the impact of media technologies on wellbeing. Key responsibilities include leading and conducting literature reviews, working on research papers, assisting in research activities, leading/assisting in data gathering, conducting data analysis, actively contributing to writing academic research manuscripts, and leading the writing of reports.

Requirements
  • PhD degree in Communication Studies, Psychology or related field in the social sciences
  • Applicants with more than 1 year of work experience in social sciences research are preferred, but entry-level candidates are also welcome to apply
  • Prior experience in focus group interviews and surveys for social science research
  • Good quantitative data management and analytical skills (e.g., SPSS, MPLUS, R, and/or Python)
  • Demonstrable intellectual excellence and capacity to work with others independently
  • Good project management skills, with multi-tasking ability
  • Academic writing skills
  • A good publication track record evidenced by journal publications and conference presentations is preferred
