Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the design, installation, commissioning, and qualification of process and utility electrical and instrumentation for projects.
  • Ensure adherence to agreed objectives such as budget, time schedule, and functionality in accordance with safety and environmental requirements.
  • Develop electrical and instrumentation specifications based on project requirements and standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, instrument criticality and risk assessments for instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Develop and maintain various engineering documents such as project instrumentation specifications & instrument catalogue, preferred vendors list, specifications, equipment list, layouts, etc.
  • Evaluate and specify instruments and electric devices designed for process & utility applications.
  • Create and maintain instrument objects and datasheets and loop diagrams in project database.
  • Support procurement process with technical expertise.
  • Review and approve process data and PID's with E&I specific knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated designs. Review and approve design documents, drawings, and calculations.
  • Responsible for procurement by developing client specification for purchase and leading/support bidding process including inspection of equipment and materials.
  • Participate, supervise and coordinate in the installation and pre-commissioning & qualification for electrical and instrumentation.
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards during installation.
  • Support and arrange calibration activities on site prior to commissioning, qualification or handover to operational.
  • Manage contractors and subcontractors involved in installation activities.
  • Conduct pre-commissioning checks and inspections.
  • Perform or oversee the functional testing of electrical equipment, control systems, and instrumentation devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve commissioning issues and discrepancies.
Requirements:
  • Diploma/ Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and Communication Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Design Engineer in the Plant construction industry.
  • Minimum 10 year's relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of Electrical & Instrument design principles, codes, and standards
  • Proficiency in MS office & AutoCAD or similar software for design and documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address design challenges creatively.
  • Excellent technical communication (oral and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams and project engineering teams
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize activities, and meet project deadlines.
