GIC seeks a seasoned Data Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong focus on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) who can enhance the reliability, availability, and performance of our enterprise data platforms.

  • As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for providing operational production support, including incident & emergency response management, availability management, change management, configuration management, and documentation for data infrastructure platforms.
  • You will bring a mindset to identify opportunities to automate operational tasks, streamline deployment via CICD, monitoring and incident response processes, reducing manual intervention.
  • In this role, you will design and implement mechanisms to effectively gather metrics and metadata from monitoring systems and enterprise data platforms to provide recommendations for targeted improvements in performance tuning and fault-finding activities.
  • Analyze system performance and implement enhancements to improve operational efficiencies of data platforms.
  • Partner with internal security and infrastructure teams to ensure secure and robust architectural design for our data platforms.
  • Become an excellent team player with a collaborative mindset; work directly with investment and technology professionals at all grades and across departments.

We are seeking an individual with 6 or more years of relevant technology experience, preferably in financial risk services or asset management industries, and experience in leading software development teams. Hands-on engineering experience in programming languages, SQL, scripting for automation, monitoring tools, cloud technologies & IAC, distributed query technologies, data storage & EL/ETL processing is required.

We value your willingness to learn, attention to detail, passion in technology and/or finance, fair presentation skills, communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, ability to collaborate with cross-departmental business and technical partners, and Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related discipline.
