We are seeking an experienced Electrical Reliability Expert to join our team at Celanese Singapore PTE. LTD. in a critical role that will oversee the electrical discipline for capital projects and asset management.

Job Description

As an Electrical Reliability Expert, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise to enhance electrical reliability and ensure all KPIs are met. This includes improving the reliability of electrical equipment by implementing repair recommendations and conducting inspections based on engineering codes and standards.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Providing troubleshooting services to resolve electrical issues impacting safety, quality, and reliable plant operations
  • Offering technical reliability guidance to site maintenance teams during unplanned electrical outages
  • Liaising with OEMs and vendors for reliability improvement works and raising PRs for spares and services
  • Developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs, analyzing reports, and addressing recurring issues
  • Rolling out reliability improvement programs for the site based on global directives
  • Identifying, procuring, and managing critical spares required for electrical maintenance
  • Leading reliability-related RCA/Failure Investigations and conducting FMEA
  • Reviewing and grading low-level RCAs performed by technicians and suggesting action plans
  • Leading RCM and CERR programs for electrical discipline, addressing critical issues and bad actors
  • Providing technical support for process safety studies like PHA related to electrical discipline
  • Executing Turnaround job scopes for electrical discipline and ensuring all TA KPIs are met
  • Reviewing standard maintenance procedures and risk assessments for electrical equipment
  • Supporting global and site audits related to electrical reliability and closing assigned action items
  • Raising MOCs for new projects and non-RIK modifications related to reliability improvement
  • Providing cost-saving ideas and productivity projects to reduce maintenance and TA costs
  • Reviewing and optimizing warehouse inventory stock for electrical discipline-related spares
  • Supporting procurement teams in vendor selection and approval processes
  • Coordinating with OEM, electrical vendors, service contractors to define scopes, schedules, and progress updates
  • Preparing five-year capital plans for discipline-related projects and leading reliability improvement capital projects
  • Expertise in electrical system studies such as short-circuit calculations, load flow analysis, relay coordination, motor starting analysis, harmonics studies, and arc flash analysis
  • Proficiency with electrical equipment such as MV/LV switchgear, induction motors, power and control cables, bus ducts, UPS systems, transformers, diesel generators, VFDs, and SS
  • Good understanding of single-line diagrams, control schematics, interconnection diagrams, and logic diagrams
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore's earthing, lightning protection requirements, and hazardous area classification
  • Reviewing vendor drawings and electrical design calculations for electrical equipment and performing FAT of electrical systems at OEM/Vendor sites for electrical projects
  • Executing SAT, loop testing, interlock, function testing, assisting in electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for electrical projects
  • Preparing project close-out reports, handing over systems to operations, and updating technical documentation
  • Participating and supporting the safety, quality, and reliability programs of the site
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure performance standards are met by implementing best practices and maintaining compliance with industry standards
  • Mentoring electrical team members in areas of technical expertise and providing training to in-house electrical contractors and operations teams on mandatory electrical trainings
  • Networking with peers and industry experts to adopt best practices for technology improvement and reliability programs
