Greenhouse Operations Specialist

The primary objective of this role is to oversee the efficient operation of a nursery, ensuring that all processes are aligned with industry best practices and company standards.

As a seasoned Horticulture Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for managing and operating the greenhouse, supervising staff, and maintaining equipment. You will assist in production planning, scheduling, and implementation of hydroculture plant projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and allocate daily work tasks to nursery workers.
  • Monitor the maintenance and efficient use of all greenhouse machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure best horticultural practices are applied in the care, propagation, and upkeep of nursery plants.
  • Assist in preparing costing and quotations for tender submissions in collaboration with the project team.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of greenhouse operations, processes, and resource management.

This role requires strong knowledge of greenhouse operations, including plant propagation, pest and disease management, and irrigation systems. The ideal candidate will possess a degree or diploma in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agriculture, or related field, along with at least 3-5 years of experience in nursery or horticultural management.

  • Ability to supervise and manage staff effectively.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Degree or diploma in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agriculture, or related field.
