The estimated salary for this role is SGD 120,000 - 180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for an exceptional individual with a strong background in Materials Science Engineering or Civil Engineering to lead research initiatives and explore innovative materials for road infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting research and exploration studies on materials for road pavement, as well as materials related to road infrastructure, footpaths, cycling paths, and bridges.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting research and exploration studies on materials for road pavement and road infrastructure;
- Performing basic material testing, including material characterization, tensile, compressive, and durability tests;
- Analysing test results and data, providing insights and recommendations;
- Managing and maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments are calibrated timely and functioning correctly;
- Assisting to prepare and conduct workshops and sharing sessions to disseminate research findings and methodologies;
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support ongoing projects and enhance research initiatives;
- Developing detailed reports and presentations to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Materials Science Engineering or Civil Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in material research and exploration;
- Strong skills in basic material testing and analysis;
- Experience in managing laboratory equipment and performing material characterization techniques;
- Excellent problem-solving ability, self-motivated, and adaptable;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Knowledge of sustainable materials and practices in civil engineering is a plus.
