Eye Care Professional Opportunity

The role of an optician is multifaceted and requires a combination of technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and business acumen. As a key member of the eye care team, you will be responsible for performing refraction tests and dispensing glasses to customers. You will also possess knowledge of contact lenses, including fitting, dispensing, and aftercare.

In addition to these technical aspects, you will provide professional advice on spectacles, frames, and related products, ensuring that customers make informed purchasing decisions. You will deliver excellent customer service to create a positive shopping experience, maintaining store operations and controlling inventory levels in a timely and efficient manner.

To excel in this role, you will require NITEC, diploma, or degree in optometry or equivalent qualification. Registration with the Optometric Association Board is mandatory. A strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a community setting is essential, as well as being passionate about making eye care accessible and meaningful.

Prior retail experience is preferred, but not necessary. Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude are highly valued. Good command of spoken and written English is required, along with sales-driven and customer-oriented qualities.

  • Key Responsibilities:
