Job Overview
Mistral AI is seeking a talented Applied AI Engineer to drive the successful deployment of its products among customers. This role requires collaboration with clients from the pre-sale stage to post-implementation, ensuring our solutions meet and exceed client expectations.
In this position, you will manage daily customer relations involving multiple stakeholders (CEOs, CTOs, data scientists, and software engineers) and function as a key resource in externalizing our research in production settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboard customers on our products and APIs, providing guidance on prompting, evaluation, and fine-tuning.
- Work on state-of-the-art GenAI applications from consumer products to industrial use cases, driving technological transformation with our customers.
- Deploy into production use cases with significant business impact across various industries.
- Collaborate with researchers, other AI engineers, product engineers on complex customer projects involving fine-tuning, LLM applications, and open-source codebases.
- Participate in pre-sales calls to understand potential clients' needs, challenges, and aspirations, providing technical guidance on our products and explaining Mistral technologies to various stakeholders.
- Contribute to improving our product and model capabilities based on customers' feedback.
Requirements
- Fluent in English.
- Hold a PhD or Master's degree in AI or Data Science.
- 2+ years of experience as a technical individual contributor on AI-based products.
- Familiarity with Fine Tuning LLMs, tackling advanced RAG or agentic use cases.
- Deep understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.
- Experience building and deploying LLMs or NLP applications.
- Strong technical coding skills in Python.
- Proficiency in deep learning with PyTorch.
- Knowledge of agents frameworks like Langchain or vector DBs.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts simply to both technical and non-technical audiences.
