Job Title: Building Construction Project Engineer

The role of a building construction project engineer is to oversee the planning, execution and completion of construction projects from start to finish. This involves managing teams of engineers, architects and contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

This position requires a strong educational background in engineering, preferably in civil engineering or a related field. At least 1 year of working experience in the construction industry, with a focus on project management is also necessary.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend to customers' enquiries and conduct site surveys as required.
  • Carry out detailed design and provide proposals for customers.
  • Plan and schedule works with reference to contractual schedules.
  • Coordinate goods delivery with suppliers and store as required.
  • Attend to all operational matters related to the daily running of the project.
  • Liaise with customers concerning approval of plans and drawings, acceptance of work, progress of work, problem solving etc.
  • Attend site meetings and inspections, report regularly on progress and monitor schedule.
  • Prepare monthly project reports to the Project Manager/Customer.
  • Co-ordinate with customers to handover completed project with project documents.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure. You should also have a good understanding of construction laws and regulations, as well as knowledge of building codes and safety protocols.

Requirements:

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree in engineering, preferably in civil engineering or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of working experience in the construction industry, with a focus on project management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A good understanding of construction laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety protocols.
