Policy Advisor Role

This role is located within the Policy department and involves providing strategic advice to senior leadership on policies from a labour perspective.

The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding NTUC's positions and policies on moving the 4Ps (Protection, Placement, Progression, and Privileges) as well as enhancing workers' wages, welfare, and work prospects (3Ws).

In this role, you will collaborate with other Business Units to formulate, analyse, and influence government policymaking with an impact on the livelihoods of workers. You are required to monitor the economic outlook and developments in the labour market, gathering ground feedback from unionised and non-unionised sectors.

You will prepare reports and analyses to derive meaningful information for internal stakeholders and work with Government agencies to lobby and tailor help schemes to meet the needs of the workers.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Maintaining expertise in labour laws and regulations.
  • Providing guidance on policy matters to senior leadership.
  • Formulating and analysing government policies.
  • Lobbying with Government agencies.
  • Preparing reports and analyses.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and Government agencies.
  • Experience in policymaking and lobbying.
