The role involves designing, reviewing and implementing policies relating to data protection and governance.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in advancing data governance excellence across the public sector.

This involves formulating and implementing whole-of-government (WOG) data policies that guide the strategic management, sharing, and utilisation of data as a national asset.

You will be responsible for identifying and driving new initiatives to improve the exchange of data within Government agencies, and sharing of Government data with commercial partners and the public.

Additionally, you will strengthen data governance by developing policies relating to responsible use of data, as well as driving the development of capabilities, institutionalizing structures and standardising tools for WOG.

The ideal candidate possesses strong systems perspective and able to see the big picture, with good perspective taking skills, able to analyse issues from different agencies' standpoints.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills that can create a consensus on action from a wide spectrum of external and internal stakeholders are required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and oversee key data policies across WOG
  • Develop policies to ensure responsible data use, undergirded by clear principles to guide agencies in data governance
  • Review and reform existing data governance policies and practices
  • Foster understanding and application of these principles/policy across WOG
  • Engage stakeholders and work closely with senior management to achieve optimal posture in governance
Requirements:

Candidates should have a background in related domains such as public policy, Business, Law, Information/Computer Science, Data Analytics/Statistics, Engineering, or any related field.

Relevant experience in one or more of the following: Policy and strategy, Data Governance and policy, Workforce development, Capability building, Regulatory compliance, Data management, Data privacy regulations.
