Research Fellow PositionThe School of Chemistry invites applications for the position of Research Fellow. The successful candidate will take on a significant role in Asst Prof QIAO YUAN's lab to perform complex carbohydrate synthesis and bioactivity evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform chemical synthesis and characterization of complex carbohydrates and analogues
- Develop LC-MS method for structural elucidations of natural carbohydrates
- Conduct research experiments with multi-step synthesis and handle air- and moisture-sensitive reactions
- Perform chemical biology assays to evaluate the bioactivity of natural and synthetic carbohydrates
Requirements
A recent PhD graduate with expertise in organic chemistry, natural product synthesis, chemical biology or related field is required. The ideal candidate must have:
- Research experience with multi-step synthesis and good techniques to handle air- and moisture-sensitive reactions
- Demonstrated strong publication track-record, as evidenced by at least first-author publication in high quality journals
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, interpersonal skills
- High motivation and ability to supervise students
