Career Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing civil infrastructure projects, primarily for underground rail/road/viaduct works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager to design related civil infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and engineering codes.
  • Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to assess feasibility and constructability.
  • Develop optimized construction methodologies and technical proposals to enhance bid competitiveness.
  • Prepare method statements and technical submissions aligned with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Lead the design of roadworks, drainage, earthworks, and related civil infrastructure.
  • Review and approve design deliverables for accuracy and constructability.
  • Collaborate with quantity surveyors, planners, BIM teams, and procurement to align technical strategies.
  • Interface with subcontractors and suppliers for value engineering and alternative solutions.
  • Conduct site visits and feasibility studies to identify constraints and risks.
  • Propose mitigation strategies and integrate findings into tender planning.
  • Utilize BIM and planning software (e.g., Civil 3D, Primavera, MS Project) to visualize and sequence construction plans.
  • Prepare detailed designs, sketches, and reports with supporting calculations for projects.
  • Assist in preparing technical details for quotations, contract documentation, and technical specifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the PE Board.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of design experience and proficiency in Primavera P6 software.
  • Strong knowledge of local design/code of practices and statutory requirements.
  • Experience in infrastructural works is advantageous.
