Geotechnical Specialist Job Description

This is a specialist role for individuals with expertise in geotechnical engineering, requiring experience in the design and management of various geotechnical works such as piling, ground improvement, and slope stability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and manage geotechnical designs and works including ERSS, piling, ground improvement, and slope stability.
  • Interpret soil profiles and assess toe levels of ERSS works.
  • Conduct feasibility and optioneering studies for geotechnical works.
  • Interpret instrumentation and monitoring data and liaise with consultant teams to resolve issues.
  • Attend regular meetings and coordinate with clients, authorities, QPS, and consultants.
  • Provide construction support including preparing and reviewing shop drawings for geotechnical works and cooperating closely with site teams.
  • Support relevant authority approvals and impact assessments for geotechnical works.
  • Support project safety reviews and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience in consultancy background preferred.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical engineering software and CAD.
  • Independent, self-motivated individual with good working attitude.

Additional Information:

  • Excavation and drainage are key areas of focus.
  • Construction, investigation, and shop drawing skills are also essential.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and structural engineering is required.
  • Experience in instrumentation and geotechnical engineering is necessary.
