Lead Mechanical Project Specialist

A key member of the project team, the Mechanical Project Engineer will lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from basic and detailed engineering through to commissioning and final completion.
The role involves reviewing project requirements, contractor specifications, and technical drawings in close coordination with the project team.
The successful candidate will develop and execute project execution plans, including resource allocation, scheduling, and risk mitigation strategies.
As the on-site engineering liaison, the Mechanical Project Engineer will ensure effective oversight of construction activities, site safety, supervision, and permit-to-work processes.
This includes resolving technical challenges encountered during construction and ensuring formal resolution of major issues in collaboration with contractors and internal stakeholders.
The role requires providing regular updates and reporting to the Project Manager while coordinating closely with engineers across multiple disciplines to ensure seamless project integration.
Engineering activities must be carried out in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will also review and assess variation orders, making well-supported recommendations for resolution.
They will lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors, to ensure alignment across project phases and functions.
In addition, the Mechanical Project Engineer will conduct vendor workshops, site visits, and inspections to monitor project progress and proactively address potential issues.
They will prepare and review project documentation, including progress reports, technical documentation, and budget tracking.
Effective communication and collaboration within the project team and with external stakeholders are essential.
This is a challenging role that requires strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and industry codes/standards such as ASME, API, TEMA, and local (Singapore Standards) and international engineering practices.
