Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of welding and fabrication processes in the construction of mechanical equipment, piping, and pressure vessels. This includes:

  • Issuing punches during line checks and analyzing their impact.
  • Developing punch lists and following up to close.
  • Interpreting and following IFC, P&ID, and ISO drawings.
  • Verifying site conditions against drawings and confirming any discrepancies.
  • Conducting site inspections to verify actual conditions against engineering documents.
  • Witnessing and monitoring contractors' welding activities, inspections, and tests.
  • Promoting quality awareness and influencing the overall success of the company.
  • Assisting in the review of quality plans, inspection and test plans, and quality procedures.
  • Verifying the implementation of permit-to-work systems and other safety procedures.
  • Conducting quality inspections at site locations.
  • Reporting daily on welding activities.
  • Ensuring contractors' welders are aware of relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Interfacing with quality managers, construction engineers, and other inspectors.
  • Supporting company personnel with additional tasks as directed.
Main Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Quality Welding Inspector in Oil and Gas construction projects.
  • CSWIP, AWS, HNC, HND, or NVQ certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of TIG, MIG, laser, butt, and arc welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Observant and analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Good management and supervision skills.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment on Jurong Island, with a 60-hour workweek.
