We are seeking a skilled Internal Audit Lead to join our team at SMBC Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and executing audits independently and efficiently, including audit planning, key control evaluation and testing, report drafting and issues follow-up and closure. Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Bank internal audit methodology and be able to apply data analytics to assess the internal control environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and/or execute audits independently and efficiently, including audit planning, key control evaluation and testing, report drafting and issues follow-up and closure.
  2. Apply data analytics to assess the internal control environment.
  3. Value-adding recommendations to Management to manage emerging issues or remediate identified weaknesses.
  4. Establish and develop good working relationship with Management of assigned Business Units for which candidate has been assigned risk assessment responsibility.
  5. Contribute to the annual risk assessment exercise by developing good understanding of business strategy, plans, products, processes performance, risks and issues of the assigned Business Units.
  6. Perform assigned Business Units to keep abreast on evolving markets, regulatory, business and operational changes to drive appropriate ongoing audit coverage.

Requirements

  1. CPA certified or equivalent of an internationally recognized accounting body.
  2. At least 6 years of audit experience in the banking industry with experience in leading audits.
  3. Familiar with execution of risk-based audit approach.
  4. Proficient in both spoken and written English.
  5. Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  6. Good team player as well as able to work independently.
  7. Meticulous, disciplined and self-motivated individual with the passion to pursue excellence.
