Nurse Educator Job Description

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will play a key role in delivering education and evaluation to nursing staff.

You will work collaboratively with medical professionals to integrate nursing processes into patient care plans for specialized patient groups.

This position involves providing educational leadership to enhance patient care within established healthcare settings.

You will assist patients and caregivers with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management across the continuum of care.

Collaboration will occur with medical providers, patient care staff, and unit management in planning, implementing, and delivering educational curricula.

To ensure quality standards are met, skills development programs will be initiated within established care models; trends will be monitored and educational strategies implemented as needed.

You will provide direct specialized nursing services to assigned patients, adhering to nursing protocols and assisting with related nursing duties.

Patient care plans will be developed using evidenced-based research and national standards; consultation will occur with patients and service will be provided to ensure quality care.

You will educate technical and patient care staff on the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordination will take place for in-service training and workshops as needed.

Proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies will be ensured; workplace safety and environmental practices will be promoted through continuous improvement.

Miscellaneous job-related duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • An Associate's degree in Nursing
  • At least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

Certification/Licensure:

A State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the multi-state privilege to practice compact with New Mexico.
