Editorial Excellence at Bloomberg

Bloomberg LP, a pioneering media and financial services company, is seeking a skilled Financial News Editor to join our team in Hong Kong or Singapore. This role offers an exciting opportunity to commission and edit news explainers focused on the Asia-Pacific region.

As part of our global editorial team, you will be responsible for creating engaging content that informs and educates our audience about complex financial topics. Your expertise will enable us to deliver high-quality articles, data visualizations, and multimedia storytelling that sets us apart from the competition.

We are looking for a seasoned journalist with exceptional editing skills, a passion for explaining complex financial concepts, and a keen eye for detail. If you have a proven track record in text editing, a strong understanding of analytics tools, and experience working in a fast-paced newsroom environment, we encourage you to apply.

About the Role:

  • Commission and Edit News Explainables: Collaborate with reporters and writers to develop engaging explainers that break down complex financial stories into easily digestible content.
  • Content Strategy and Planning: Develop a deep understanding of our audience's interests and preferences to inform content decisions and ensure our explainers resonate with readers.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including reporters, designers, and developers, to produce high-quality content that meets our brand standards.
  • Staying Ahead of the Curve: Continuously update your knowledge of financial markets, economies, and industries to ensure our content remains accurate and relevant.

Requirements:

  • 3+ Years of Text Editing Experience: Proven track record in editing news articles, data visualizations, and other forms of content.
  • Strong Analytics Skills: Proficiency in analytics tools, including Parsley and Chartbeat, to inform content decisions.
  • Experience Working in a Fast-Paced Newsroom: Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Fluency in English: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
