Job Opportunity

The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the department to contribute to community engagement initiatives. This involves enabling diverse communities to be impacted deeply and meaningfully by music and recognised as a partner and leader in the music ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Programming and Operations:
    • Lead in programming and operations for projects as assigned.
    • Research and source potential community repertoire/programmes to recommend.
    • Implement accessibility initiatives to make concerts more inclusive.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead project management.
    • Liaise with colleagues, external parties, and stakeholders – venue providers, suppliers, conductors, artistes, orchestra management, and speakers.
    • Manage concert and event logistics, including booking venues, scheduling events, and negotiating terms such as fees, travel, and accommodation.
    • Prepare contracts, itineraries, and information sheets for stakeholders.
  • Community Outreach and Communications:
    • Build and maintain relationships with communities, partners, vendors, and collaborators.
  • Marketing Support:
    • Obtain publicity materials for use in marketing campaigns.
    • Work with Marketing on proofreading, design, content, and layout of event-related marketing materials.
    • Advise Marketing and provide content for educational activities.
    • Coordinate artiste interviews with Marketing.
  • Reporting and Evaluation:
    • Collate information and report on attendance, volunteer engagement, and partnerships.
    • Contribute to quarterly reports for activity evaluation.
