Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Process Operations Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful contribution to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Routine Maintenance Tasks
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as strainer cleaning, filter/screen change, coolant/lubricant top up, and hose connection to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Process Equipment Operation
    • Conduct checks, start-up, and shutdown operations on process equipment such as pumps and compressors in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures or Work Instructions.
  • Piping System Isolation
    • Isolate piping systems for plant start-up, shutdowns, product grade change, and troubleshooting operations to maintain safe and efficient processes.
  • Process Parameter Adjustment
    • Adjust process parameters to optimize process operations under the supervision of senior staff members.
  • Sampling and Testing
    • Collect process samples from assigned sampling points in a safe and controlled manner.
    • Perform in-process sample testing to ensure product quality in a laboratory environment.
  • Equipment Commissioning/Decommissioning
    • Commission and decommission process equipment as required.
  • Emergency Shutdown
    • Perform emergency shutdown of process equipment in critical situations.
  • Product Handling
    • Properly handle and blend non-conforming and off-spec products according to established procedures.
  • Maintenance Preparation
    • Prepare plant equipment for maintenance and ensure all necessary lockout/tagout and tryout procedures have been performed.
  • CHEMICAL PROCESS TECHNICIAN
    • Mix and dilute chemicals for process operations as needed.
  • Inter-tank Transfers
    • Perform inter-tank transfers of chemicals and products based on established quality procedures.
  • Emergency Response
    • Participate in emergency response activities and drills to ensure preparedness.
  • Housekeeping Standards
    • Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards in assigned areas.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications
    • NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process Technology.
  • Work Experience
    • At least 3 years' working experience as a Process Technician in a chemical industry.
